Ingredients

  • 1.5 ounce espresso freshly brewed and cooled
  • 1 ounce coconut rum
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 0.5 ounce coffee liqueur
  • Toasted coconut flakes for garnish
  • Espresso beans for garnish

Instructions

  • Chill the Glass:
  • Begin by chilling your martini glass. This can be done by filling it with ice water and setting it aside as you prepare your drink.
  • Mix the Drink:
  • In a shaker, combine the freshly brewed espresso, coconut rum, vodka, and coffee liqueur.
  • Fill the shaker with ice, ensuring there’s enough to cool the drink but not too much to dilute it.
  • Shake It Up:
  • Secure the lid on your shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. The goal is to chill the drink thoroughly and add a slight frothiness from the espresso.
  • Prepare the Garnish:
  • While your drink is chilling, prepare your garnish.
  • Toast some coconut flakes until they’re golden brown and fragrant. This will add a lovely aroma and a crunchy texture to the drink.
  • Serve:
  • Empty the ice water from your martini glass.
  • Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass, ensuring a smooth pour.
  • Garnish and Enjoy:
  • Sprinkle the toasted coconut flakes over the top of the drink.
  • Add a few espresso beans for an extra coffee kick and an elegant look.
