Try a bold New York Sour Shot with rye whiskey, lemon juice, and a red wine float. Perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce rye whiskey or bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce egg white optional
  • 1/4 ounce red wine

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients: In a shaker, combine the rye whiskey or bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using).
  • Dry Shake: If using egg white, dry shake (without ice) for about 10-15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  • Add Ice: Add ice to the shaker and shake again until well-chilled.
  • Strain: Strain the mixture into a shot glass.
  • Float the Red Wine: Gently pour the red wine over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the shot.
  • Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy your New York Sour Shot.
