Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh grapefruit juice about 1 large grapefruit
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup or to taste
  • Grapefruit slices and strawberries for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fruit Juice:
  • Squeeze fresh juice from a grapefruit until you have about 1/2 cup.
  • Muddle the Strawberries:
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle the strawberries with the simple syrup to release their juice and flavor.
  • Mix the Cocktail:
  • Add the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, vodka, and a handful of ice cubes to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to combine all the flavors.
  • Strain and Serve:
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice. This helps remove the strawberry pulp and seeds, leaving a smooth drink.
  • Garnish and Enjoy:
  • Garnish with a slice of grapefruit, a strawberry, and a sprig of mint if you like.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh, vibrant cocktail.
