Ingredients

  • 1.5 ounces Limoncello chilled
  • 1.5 ounces gin or vodka optional
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • Champagne or sparkling wine for topping off
  • Garnishes: lemon peel maraschino cherries, fresh berries, and/or fresh herbs (basil, mint, or sage)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass:
  • Start by chilling the glass you will use for the cocktail to keep your drink nice and cold.
  • Mix the Base:
  • In the chilled glass, pour 1.5 ounces of chilled Limoncello. If you’re using gin or vodka, add 1.5 ounces to the glass.
  • Add Lemon:
  • Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into the glass. Stir well to mix the lemon juice with the Limoncello and gin or vodka, if using.
  • Top Off with Champagne:
  • Slowly pour Champagne or sparkling wine into the glass, filling it to the top. Pour gently to avoid too much fizz and to keep the bubbly from overflowing.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Garnish your drink with a twist of lemon peel on the rim of the glass. You can also add a maraschino cherry, some fresh berries, or a sprig of fresh basil, mint, or sage for an extra touch of flavor and elegance.
  • Enjoy:
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the crisp, refreshing taste of your Limoncello Champagne Cocktail.
