Ingredients

  • 1 watermelon chunk
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1/4 ounce agave nectar or simple syrup
  • Sparkling water
  • Watermelon chunk for garnish
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Tajin optional

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon Puree:

  • In a blender, blend the watermelon chunk until smooth.
  • Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp, if desired.

Mix the Cocktail:

  • In a large mixing glass or cocktail shaker, combine the watermelon puree, lime juice, tequila, Cointreau (or triple sec), and agave nectar (or simple syrup).
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.

Serve:

  • Rim your glass with Tajin for an optional spicy kick.
  • Fill the glass with ice.
  • Pour the shaken mixture into the glass, leaving some room at the top.
  • Top off with sparkling water to add fizz.

Garnish:

  • Garnish with a watermelon chunk and a lime wedge.
