Ingredients

  • 4 peach slices + 1 extra for garnish
  • 2 oz reposado tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz orange liqueur Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 2-3 dashes peach bitters
  • 1/4 oz spicy or hot honey
  • Sugar for rimming the glass
  • Sprig of mint or basil for garnish optional

Instructions

Prepare the Glass:

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass.
  • Dip the rim of the glass into sugar to coat it. Set the glass aside.

Muddle the Peaches:

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the 4 peach slices.
  • Muddle the peach slices until they are well mashed and have released their juices.

Add the Liquids:

  • To the shaker, add the reposado tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, peach bitters, and spicy or hot honey.
  • Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake the Cocktail:

  • Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve:

  • Fill the prepared margarita glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.

Garnish:

  • Garnish with the extra peach slice on the rim of the glass.
  • Add a sprig of mint or basil for an optional touch of freshness.
