Ingredients

  • 4-5 blackberries
  • basil leaves
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • Extra blackberries and a basil leaf for garnish

Instructions

Muddle Ingredients:

  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blackberries and basil leaves together until the berries are well crushed and the basil is fragrant.

Add Liquids:

  • Add the bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice to the shaker.

Shake:

  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Strain:

  • Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.

Garnish:

  1. I just nade my first one and it was not only easy but delicious. Very refreshing on a warm evening to just chill out with.

  2. I have so many blackberries and basil in my garden right now that I had to make this! I subbed maple syrup for the simple syrup (only bc I didn’t have any and was too lazy to make any!) and it was delicious. Will have to try with the simple syrup next time.
