Ingredients

  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce fresh pineapple juice juice a ripe pineapple yourself or use a high-quality store-bought version without added sugars.
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Pineapple slices

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • If you haven’t done so, juice the pineapple and lime. Prepare simple syrup by dissolving equal parts sugar and water over low heat and allowing it to cool.

Mix the Drink:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the white rum, fresh pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

Serve:

  • Strain the mixture into a chilled glass. A margarita glass or a daiquiri glass is perfect for this.
  • Garnish with a slice of pineapple on the rim of the glass or a wedge on a skewer.
