Ingredients

  • 1 ripe kiwi peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 oz sugar
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz kiwi juice blended kiwi, strained
  • 4 oz champagne or sparkling wine chilled
  • Kiwi slices for garnish
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Kiwi Juice:

  • Peel and slice a ripe kiwi.
  • Blend the kiwi slices until smooth.
  • Strain the mixture to get pure kiwi juice.

Sugar Rim (Optional):

  • If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can rim your champagne glass with sugar.
  • To do this, moisten the rim of the glass with a slice of kiwi or a bit of orange juice.
  • Dip the rim into a plate of sugar to coat it evenly.

Mix the Juices:

  • In a small mixing glass, combine 1 ounce of freshly squeezed orange juice and 1 ounce of kiwi juice.
  • Stir well to mix the flavors.

Pour the Base:

  • Pour the juice mixture into the bottom of a champagne glass.

Add the Sparkling Wine:

  • Slowly pour 4 ounces of chilled champagne or sparkling wine into the glass.
  • Pour gently to maintain the bubbles.

Garnish:

  • Garnish with a slice of kiwi on the rim of the glass.
  • Add a fresh mint leaf for a touch of color and aroma.

Serve Immediately:

  • Serve the Kiwi Mimosa immediately while it’s still bubbly and fresh.
