  • 4 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz dark spiced rum
  • 1 tbsp apple butter
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp unsalted butter softened
  • Apple slices optional, for garnish
  • Cinnamon sticks optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together the apple cider, unsalted butter, apple butter, and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat and whisk continuously for 1 minute.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the dark spiced rum.
  • If preferred, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any solids.
  • Pour the hot buttered rum into a mug, garnish with dried apple slices and a cinnamon stick if desired, and serve warm.
